Ingredients
- 2 cups of 2 day old bread* cut into ½” - 1” cubes
- ¼ c olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Za’atar Blend
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 380° and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the outer crust off of the loaf of bread with a serrated knife.
- Slice the bread into ½” - 1” slices. Stack 2-4 slices of bread and cut them again to make cubes.
- Place in a bowl and drizzle the olive oil over the bread, mixing or shaking the bowl ½ way through the drizzling to get an even coating on the bread.
- Sprinkle the Za’atar over the bread and mix to get the seasoning on all of the pieces.
- Place the bread on the rimmed baking sheet and spread it out in an even layer making sure that the pieces are not stacked. You want the bread to cook as evenly as possible on all sides for a crunchy crouton.
- Place in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature.
Notes
We recommend using fresh baked bread from your local bakery or supermarket. Croutons can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
