A sophisticated, no-cook appetizer that hits every flavor note: creamy, sweet, tangy, and crunchy. The lemon zest and Dukkah provide a bright, earthy contrast to the rich goat cheese.
Ingredients
The Whipped Base:
- 4 oz soft goat cheese, at room temperature
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt (plain)
- ½ tsp lemon zest
- 1 ½ tsp extra virgin olive oil
- Pinch of salt
The Toppings:
- 10 fresh figs, cut in half lengthwise
- 1 Tbsp Dukkah Nut and Spice Blend
- Honey, for drizzling
- Garnish: Microgreens or chopped fresh chives
Instructions
Whip the Cheese
- Combine: In a medium bowl (or a small food processor), combine the soft goat cheese, Greek yogurt, lemon zest, olive oil, and a pinch of salt.
- Whip: Beat the mixture until light, airy, and smooth.
- Chill (Optional): If the mixture feels too soft, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes to firm up slightly before serving.
Assembly
- Prep the Figs: Arrange the halved figs on a serving platter, cut-side up. If they don't sit flat, you can trim a tiny sliver off the rounded bottom to create a "stand."
- Top with Cheese: Carefully spoon a dollop of the whipped goat cheese mixture onto the center of each fig half.
- The Spice: Sprinkle the 1 Tbsp Dukkah Nut and Spice Blend directly onto the goat cheese dollops so the nuts and seeds adhere to the cheese.
The Finishing Touches
- Drizzle: Finish with a generous drizzle of honey over the top of each prepared fig.
- Garnish: Scatter microgreens or fresh chives over the platter for a final pop of color.
